I am new wanting a shift kit
Do a complete valve body. It will cost more (about $400) but it will have all new seals, be fully tested and dynoed, and will come with a warranty. I put a DTT valve body in mine and that's it and I'm holding 371 abusive horses. The stock tranny is good for maybe 300.

Big Blue,
How did the valve body affect the shifts? and how does the stock tcc lock up like now? Did you check the pressures (before and after) to see if any differance? TIA

If I'm going slow it will shift at lower rpm's. In normal driving it usually shifts at about 1800 rpm although if I'm crawling through a parking lot it will shift at about 1600 rpm. Half throttle is about 2300-2400. The 1-2 shift is the only shift that I feel. The other ones are firm, but you don't feel them.

Can you slip the tcc if you get on it at lower rpms?

Nope. I can flip the lock up switch, lug it down to about 1300-1400rpms, turn the comp on 5x5, and floor it and it won't slip. Now, I'm not saying that it won't ever slip doing that but the several (probably close to 50) times I've done it it hasn't slipping. My favorite is locking it up at about 35-40mph and lugging it. I can also stand on it from a dead stop on 5x5 and it will hold great. Call up stefan at DTT and talk to him. He's a heckuva nice guy to talk to and will set ya up with exactly what you need. Nothing more and nothing less. Heck, I wanted to buy a TC from him at the same time but he said no. Said it would ruin the front pump. I didn't think that just a valve body would hold this kind of power but I was wrong. It's holding better than I could ever hope. As a matter of fact, I'm looking to up the injectors a little and see if it will hold 400hp. If it'll hold 400hp then I'll be impressed.
Thanks Big Blue,
That is what I'm looking for. I have a customer with a stock trans and he just installed a Comp and gauges, if he stomps on it with the box on 4-5 it will slip the tcc. On the lower settings it works fine.
I told him he would need trans mods but he wants to get by a little while to save up, I think the valve body should do the trick.
Thanks for the quick help!
