HX40 4" Downpipe, Will It Fit???
I just recieved a 4" downpipe with clamp from NADP and it seems like it will fit too low??? I have a HTT coming and just want to have everything ready when it get's here. The boys at NADP say it's the right one but you never know??? Any thoughts??? I will take a picture in a couple of hours to show what I mean...

The HX-40 downpipe I just installed with my turbo went right in. The end was flared so I was able to cut my old downtube just after the elbow to get good measurements for the final cut. After the final cut it slid right on without having to use any flex pipe.
The fit looks tight at first, but once it was clamped and in final position it fit well. The hard part was finding a 4" exhaust clamp in my area.

I've never heard anyone else say their's was shy like Blue's. I thought mine was the only one. It was exactly 2 inches shy! Switched from Rip Rook's 4" off my HX-35 to the HX-40 downpipe when I went to the HTB2.
I didn't expect anything because no one had ever mentioned it. Rip sent me the new one also. I cut a 6" piece of left over pipe from the original 4" install longways and "expanded" it and clamped it on over the two ends that would not meet. Left a big hole at the bottom for about 5 months until finally got a shop to expand some other left over 4" pipe and splice it the right way.
Your pipe looks just like mine, might want to have some extra expanded to make the fit.
To all turbo and exhaust suppliers, make it the right length.

My HX-40 came from II as well. I should clarify, I left a section of my old down pipe when I cut into it. By doing that, I had some extra to play with when I made the final fit.
If I removed the complete down pipe from my original set-up it would have been short.

With the MBRP system, I had to go and get about 16" of pipe to fit in for where the downpipe came in and where the next leg of pipe started. I lost the hanger that goes on the tranny as its welded to the MBRP downpipe.
It does hang low and you just have to make it fit with clamps etc. I found enough flex in the pipes to get it to line up reasonably well. I used stainless band clamps on my pipe from front to back, so it wasn't crunched by the cheapy threaded rod clamps. Easy to adjust and I knew I was gonna put a different down pipe in one day..

I wonder if I should just cut a bunch extra out of the old down pipe just incase? It still seems like this pipe will hang low or am I crazy??? What's the difference between the rear exhaust side of an HTT 62/13 SS and a HX35?
