HUGE drop in FP ?????

This time last week I was 13 @ idle 11 at cruise and 7-8 @ WOT

Today 9 idle 7 cruise 5 WOT

I have a little dead pdeal right when i start and have seen the P0216, I know the VP is on its way out in a hurry, and with info Im assuming the LP is not far behind it, if not in front of it.

Thanks

Jamie

make sure you have fp above 8-10 psi (minimum) at WOT at all costs.

do you have a fp guage?

I recently took my truck in under warranty because I am 12psi idle, 8psi cruise and 4-5 wot. They said they would put in on diagnositics. After 2 days they said fuel pressure is within toleration. They said they would replace LP or FP when needed. I am back to driving with same PSI readings. Frustrated but dont know what to do. It runs fine other than PSI seems low. What can ya do.

Well I had a dead pedal today for about 5 miles and once it started working again I was cruising at 4psi and could drop it to 0 at will.

When I replace the VP I want to get a comp instead of the EZ, what pump do I need to go with in the Vulcan Kit I have, would a holley blue flow more than a stock LP?

Thanks
Jamie

blackdiesel,

I have a fuel pressure gauge. I installed it a few months ago. I'm at 14-15 idle and 12/13 cruise and 10/11 WOT. I'm keeping an eye on it.

thanks,
Bobby

Why would my pressure be different during the day? In the morning when it is cool, I get 13 at idle and 9-10 at WOT. In the afternoon when it is 105 I am only getting 9 at Idle and I can pull 3 at WOT. Is the heat messing with my gauge? I am putting on a second pump this weekend, I was just wondering if heat has an effect on FP.

the heat isnt messing with the guage, its messing with the fuel. thats the only logical explanition, the guage would read accurate no matter what the air temp is.

Thanks, I'll just do what I can to keep it up above 10 PSI...I will be running a Holley blue in line with a carter pump both off of relays...till I can buy something better.

Can you run two holley blues in line to get more FP?? It would take some work but would it work with the Vulcan relocate kit??

Thanks,
Jamie
