Httb2/boost Elbow ?

hey guys,
i was thinking of puting my adjustable boost elbow off my old hx35 on the new htb2/62 to see if i could get the low boost to build quicker! what do you think the pros and cons will be? Mark

I dont see how this would help you. The boost elbow it designed to delay the opening of the WG to get you more boost.....to override the factory WG spring temproarly. HTB2 has a preset WG to around 40-45 PSI i would assume....this is where the turbo is most efficent. If you added the elbow you would jack up the boost rather then bring it in at a low RPM. You would over drive the HTB2 and be pushing hot air rather than "Good Boost" I would leave it alone and maybe look into a smaller Exhaust housing if spool up is an issue. I would enquire about a 14cm2 with a quick spool option......they can probaly do that for a resonable price......

hello diesel dan,
i already have the 14 gated quick spool, but it seems to build boost slow between 0 and 20 psi along with heat, then once it hits 20psi it jumps from 20 to 40psi quickly. i couldnt remember if the elbow raised the stock wg setting or helped build quicker boost. thanks for setting me straight. oh well looks like i will be removing the dv's and puting the 180's back in to see if i can get the heat down some more. You might want to look into an external WG. A little fab work and you can have a more effencent setup.....talk to Big Blue....i just installed Rjohnsons old setup on his with a KSB1 and seems to work well.....
