How to quiet down a cummins? Can it be done?

I can tell that I got the updated wife, she doesn't mind driving our pickup when we are traveling, but it is too big in town for her. So what does she want, a durango with a 4BTA. She says she likes the sound of a Cummins. By the way she chose the CTD over the PSD because she thought it quieter.

I love my CTD
AND, I love how it sounds. I've had it since new and plan on keeping it around until it can go no more. 
Thinking about the mat since I live in town and pizzing off the neighbors wouldn't be good.
