How much paint does it take?
I'm looking to re-paint my truck and I'm not sure how much to buy? I just need enough to do the quad cab, cause of the flatbed. I was thinking around 3 quarts to a gallon but not sure. Can anyone help me out on this?

Good for you that you can paint it yourself! You didn't state if the color is a Metallic or a solid color?? Metallic would use more because you have to "Fog/Mist" your last coat, to get an even metallic in the paint (No tiger stripes lol) I would get a gallon & your would "Reduce" the paint..dont know what brand you are, going to use..PPG, Dupont, Martin Senior, Etc..I would think you are goiing to use an acrylic enamel with a hardner?? make sure to use a "Primer Sealer" before the paint..but you know that already..Good Luck!!

Thanks for the response and I don't know much about painting a truck, I was thinking of buying what I need then have a qualified person lay the paint down, unless it's a job that an beginner can do without doing it twice. Any info that you can offer would be great

Then I would find your spray man first and ask him. I know I always hated it when someone tried to get me to paint with either the wrong paint, not enough paint, or none of the other things, paper, tape, etc.........
I can tell you, in my spraying days, I wouldn't spray Sherwin Williams or Dupont......not that there was anything wrong with them, they just required a different technique than PPG, and I didn't want the hassle. Today I "think" they spray much more closely, though I have to say, SW Crossfire which is the last stuff I sprayed, flowed for what seemed like an eternity.
