how much boost o/o hx35 can i get?

hey guys.
i am getting the 3k gsk kit in next week and was wondering if i shoud put dv's in or injectors and what size. i am getting stacks put on next week also with 4" from turbo back. i am getting 32 psi in 4th right now with the 10 plate in stock position. am i going to get to much boost for the head gasket with injectors and dv or should i justs move the plate forward or grind to 100 and go easy on the pedal. egt's are around 1000 pulling a 42 aluminum horse trailer at around 65. do you thunk they would be out of hand with the add ons?

Keep it under 36psi, you can get an ajustable boost elbow to control the boost.

sounds like its just an orifice that will let the boost spike and then will fall when the pressure equalizes. and adjustable one vents some of the pressure and keeps the boost at the set level as long as you are accelerating.

35psi is about as far as you want to push the stock charger anything more is just hot air and off the compressor map.

With out a bigger charger that 10 plate is about as far as I would take it maybe slide it forward some and see how egt's are, but injectors and/or DV's will put your egt's through the roof without a bigger charger

what charger would you recomend. don't hual that much. usually just a 24' stock with a few horses. there is a diesel shop in houston Tx that rebuild the 35 and i was told that they would work up to about 400hp.

I like the Piers. You can save some $ with a upgrade by HTT with a 60mm wheel and housing that bolts to your stock turbo about $350 and is like the Hybrid. You can do it your self. A 14cm w/g housing would be a good up gread to.

thats because after 36psi you are super heating the air making it sell dense = less oxygen in the same volume. Mine hit 48psi once before I made an adjustable boost elbow. I just wandered what it would go to, glad it didn't come apart

By the time you get an HTT compressor upgrade and 14cm housing, you'll be over halfway cost-wise to a better turbo. Don't waste your time with the hybrid. Keep the HX35 at under 35psi, and if you run into EGT issues, then upgrade to an S300 based turbo. If you don't have EGT issues, there isn't really a good enough reason to spend $1000+ for a turbo.

The headgasket is safe to about 45psi. I don't like to see over 40psi with advanced timing.

egt's aren't bad. hauled 3 horses in a 16' stock trailer today and hit 1300 in
5th. i just like the exhaust noise i guess. would like to put injectors a dv's in though and thought i should probably get the turbo first. figured i would peg the gauge unless i did. have only done that once so far.

Injectors and DV's will require much more than a hybrid. You'll have to wait for someone with a well-fueled 2nd gen to chime in, but IMO you'll need either twins or a good sized single.

Here's two popular series of S300-based turbos:
