How many holes in a RV 275??

For a 24 valve engine.
1. How many holes are in the RV 275 injectors?
2. How many holes are in the stock injectors?
3. Where's the best price to buy some?
4. Do they increase fuel mileage?
5. Are they a quieter injector over the bigger Hp injectors?

Thanks.

1) Pretty sure they are 7-holed nozzles
2) Stockers are 5, I think
3) City diesel will match most online RV injector quotes. I bet you could get some 275s for about $350.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

If the 275's are quieter and give better fuel economy over the Stage I's I already have I might buy some and give them a try.

The RV's have 7 holes and so do the stock injectors. Most see milage gains, and quieter idle.

Just reread all the posts.

If the 275's are 7 hole and the stockers are 7 hole I don't see how you could possibly increase fuel mileage. I was thinking the 275's had more holes and smaller holes which would mean better fuel atomization. Guess I'll have to keep my stage I's and more power unless someone can convince me how or why the 275's would give better fuel economy.

The stock injectors I replaced only had 3 holes. I could easily tell how many holes, due to all the carbon buildup. I didn't really count the holes on the 275's, but the holes are all the way around the tip. On the old ones, there were holes only on 1 side of the tip.

I'd say it depends on the spray patterns and angles and how the fuel is dispersed inside the cylinder and lit.
In view of recents developments in some states, the idle chacteristics in regards to smoke are on a few peoples mind including mine here in Tennessee. I'd like to make a power improvement with injectors but not at the cost of increased smoke at idle or even part throttle cruise. The R&D might be involved but there are likely going to be some that'll need help in this area soon.

bluebull, your best bet is to talk to Don M about it. He could probably tell ya. I think there's to many variables in the equation other than the number of holes. I'll let ya know saturday or monday how many holes and if there's a mileage increase.

I promise you your stock injectors had more than 3 holes. The holes are all the way around the tip on the stockers not just on one side. If you clean them up you will be able to see.

Talking

i yanked my stockers last week and they had 7 holes,im sure the rv 275s have 7 as well, they mite have diferent opening presures and like others said the angle and spray paterns have alot to do with power and atomization.seems crazy to go down in power though,i leardned the hard way,"go big or go home"i tried the 90hp and wasnt to impressed but the 130hpxxx i got now are excellent.great power and if i keep my foot out of it{hard to do}i see better milage.runs smoother to and very clean.

as seen by my sig, i had DD3's (115hp) on a 2002 with an edge comp. i never noticed smoke at idle, i could not get it to smoke by revving it either, that is of course in neutral. driving it like i stole it was a different matter...lots of smoke. if you are concerned with the 24valves smoking at idle, you shouldnt. maybe others with chime in who have noticed smoke with their 24's at idle, but i have never seen anything on these forums that say they do. maybe the stage 4 and up extrude honed injectors do?????

just what i noticed, Pat
