How many guys are running stock?
I am curious (maybe this should be a poll?), how many guys who belong to this forum run their trucks completely stock?
I do. My transmission was rebuilt before I bought my truck, but it was rebuilt to stock specs, not higher performance. I do not tow, and I have kept the engine completely stock, so it should hold up for a good while. Although I would not be opposed to more power (who isn't?), with the economy and our budget, keeping the truck stock is where I am at. Also, at stock horsepower and torque, the factory components will last longer. I am very satisfied with my trucks performance, especially compared to what I used to drive, so the horsepower bug is not hitting me.
That is where I am at.

You are doing exactly what you should be doing with your truck. You are satisfied with the power so you are right, leave it alone. Hats off to you, and you are right the rest of drivetrain should last longer and cost less to maintain.
My 99, 3500 is close to stock and does a great job for me. K&N air filter, 4 inch exhaust installed. Trans temp gage and fuel pressure gage on the way. I use this truck mainly to pull a 27 ft TT. Can't beat a Dodge. What kind of miles are people getting on these trucks? Mine only has 112000 now.

I am in total AWE of each and every one of you. I respect a guy who can use his truck for its intended use. I have no personal self restraint. I simply can not leave stuff with engines alone.
When I bought mine, All it had was the leveling kit and 35's. From there it kept rolling. Gauges to be safe, intake and exhaust for better sound. Then I was hooked!
I try to justify by totally researching to the max ever mod I consider or have done, and the fact that I still tow 5-10k weekly, and drop it to stock skinny tires and Juice turned off to plow it the winter so its still 99% work truck/daily driver.

Stock. I haul livestock up and down a mountain so there are a few mods in the future. Tranny cooler, gauges, jake brake- done. I like my truck just fine the way it is- plenty of power, nice looking.
Mine is stock as well. Don't know enough about trying for more horses. I've been doing a lot of reading of other posts, to expand on the knowledge of do's and dont's, just not seeing any thing I like yet. But not having to deal with premature failures isn't hurting either.
