how to get 610 ft/lbs

I'm just curious. I have 460 ft/lbs on my stock motor, and a 4 inch exhaust. What would I have to do to get 610 ft/lbs, or close to it, and not have to worry about EGT's and have as little smoke as possible?

Hmm are you going by the actual readings on the paper?

Id say your at about 400 at the rears at best, if you want 610 at the rears, Id say get a programmer to assist you, a BHAF for better breathing, i dont know much about 24V but 610 ft lbs shouldnt be so hard to get...

Tx

-an open element intake like BHAF, AFE, or Scotty
-4" exhaust that you have
- edge EZ or van aaken, single setting fueling box

this will give you a little bit of smoke when you lug the engine, egts will be fine and will put you at 600+ tq

You wouldn't have to do anything else other than to spend 10 minutes to plug in an Edge EZ.....installing a Comp should get you closer to 800 ft/lbs without any egt issues since you have the 12cm HX35.

A SuperChips is probably the only electronic mod you can do that might NOT get you to 610 at the wheels.

Everything else will take you well past 610 (ECM, VA, EZ, Comp, TST, etc).

Good to know it's not that hard to catch up to the new Cummins. The 24v smokes less than the 12v after mods, eh? W/o tapping the wire on the Comp, it'll push to the 800's?

and 610 was not rear wheel that I was worried about, @ the crank.

with just the EZ I put down 668 lb-ft at the wheels... that was then though...

of course, that's with a H.O. and not a S.O.

You could also install a set of 100rwhp injectors and a boost fouler. You should be at your mark. If you run those injectors and an ez you would be at the 320rwhp area. A nice set-up. EGT's should be too high.

I dont know how much difference there is between the ez and the Van Aaken, but I saw a 99 5 speed dyno at 351hp last weekend. He is running 100hp jammers and a Van Aaken box. Doesn't the ez give a little more timing than the VA? Maybe a couple more horses with the ez?

610tq should be no problem. Put an EZ or Van Aken on there and you should be 610+tq.
