Hot Egts!!!!

well i got the turbo working again, i think i over boosted the last one so i put my 18cm exhaust housing on this time to see the difference in higher rpm egts, wow its laggy!!, but i still noticed high egts, so im curious, all the drag and pulling vids i see they roll black smoke for up to 15 seconds, will that hurt my truck???, just curious since i plan do dyno in a month or less. thanks

You really shouldnt see any problems, Its key to have a gauge! As far as a slow spool it wont hurt your truck! Your egts might cause problems though!

thanks, i already know that im going to have to get another pyro gauge since mine on;y goes to 1500, and it will hit 1500 fairly quick at wot, how hot is too hot though, would really hot egts toasted the turbo thrust washer and bearings??? thats what happedned to the last turbo, the thrust washer and bearing got trashed and im not sure if its from over boosting or heat?? thanks

1500 for any period of time IS WAY TO HOT , Do not Tow This Hot!
I Hit 1900 + When on a hard pull but for very short periods, and a tear down is in its future! I would avoid that high of EGTS at all cost!

well im back for more quetions, its getting closer for me to get my truck dynoed, and im just want to make sure i don't blow something up, so i was going to build a water/meth injection kit before i dynoed, but if i don't before the dyno then how long can i run 1500+ degrees on the dyno, i know dynos don't really last that long but i just don't want to ruin anything thanks
