Just a piece of friendly advice coming from personal experience, don't waste your time with the holley, spend the extra money the first time and get a Air Dog 150 pump and be done once and for all, Great customer service and all the fuel you need to grow. I've been down the same road your heading. JMO Chris

FPs are a matter of opinion. Tons of people run the holley blue w/zero issues. When set up correct, they will provide years..............of service. I have not used the procomps yet (installing them on a diesel boat) but it's stated they are the same as holley. You can find new ones on ebay pretty cheap OR try summit automotive.

I know far more people that have had bad tastes left in their mouths than not with the Holley pumps.

First he needs to determine if he has an intank job or he is still running the stock Carter on the engine. I'm going to take a guess and say intank. If that is the case I would run a Holley Red instead of a Holley Blue. This will allow you to stay right at 15 psi total running the Red as a pusher pump with the intank.

I've been running the holley blue pump for over 2 yrs, stock fuel filter, and a vulcan big line kit, I run 12psi idle, and 9 at WOT with the smarty on 8 and the adrenaline on 10! No problems with the holley at all! I have the same one on my 600hp bbc! just my .02!!

I have the Holley blue also and the big line kit. I stretched the spring a little and run 19-21 psi at idle and 15 at WOT.

you can get just the holley blue from almost any parts store, about $150, i have the holley 150 that makes 16 psi and used the stock fuel lines with the stock fuel filter and it works just fine for me.

I have the ppe lift pump and I love it. It's priced right too $230 for a 160gph pump.
