Holley Blue Install

I just replaced the stock lift pump and im thinking about adding the Holley blue for a little extra help. to plumb it in i was thinking the vulcan big line/relocation kit shown here: Vulcan Pusher Pump System™ for 98.5 to 02

the question i have is this. does the kit have a provision for running both pumps? would i just need extra m12x1.5 barbed adapters? also my current fp gauge is tapped into the inlet side of the filter. i would like to tap in on the IP side of the filter since it is a better reading to find supplied pressure.

my thoughts would be this:

tank to holley blue
holley blue to stock lift pump
stock lift pump to filter
filter to IP

anyone have theirs set up using the 3/8 vulcan big line kit?

You're gonna get too much pressure. Shouldn't have more than 14 or 15 pounds to the inlet of the IP. It'll cause hard starts. Just bypass the stock LP & run it straight off the Holley Blue and the bigline. Hook your FP guage to the scrader valve on the inlet of the IP. You could run the stock LP and the bigline kit and do the Holley later. Or you could save the new stock LP as a backup & do the Holley now. Either way, keep an eye on that FP guage.

I just cut the line under the cab, and take out about 6-8" out and put the pump there, using all the hardlines dodge gives you. If your using two pumps the 3/8's lines are fine, if your just going one pump then 1/2" lines are better. JMO

You'll be fine for hot starting. If you were over 20psi static, I would more concerned.

Eric at Vulcan is a class act!!

Some people swear by them, some swear at them.

I would get a pump from someone that deals in diesels.
