I did some reading on getting a lift pump and i heard alot about the holley blue??? I was wondering how well it worked on a diesel engine?
Also it came with a regulator, i dont need that do i? i should just run it straight without?
How do i run it? in between the fuel tank and the lift pump?

Made a bracket housing a spin-on filter setup and installed the holley blue w/it right on the frame rail next to the transfer case. It pushes fuel to the factory LP. I'm not using the regulator and probably should because I think I streatched the spring to much...23psi no matter what. Open the bottom of the filter and remove the small mesh screen. I would install one of those small inline filters (100micron or so) to catch any junk prior to entering the pump. I wired it w/12ga wire into the factory LP. Some have had bad luck w/the holley and swear to never use them again. Tons of reading on here so install based on what you'll use the truck for.
Mine's been good for a year now. I bought the big line kit from Vulcan. Then a holley blue at Autozone for 120 bucks. The Vulcan big line kit came with a 3 foot lift pump wire harness extender. I cut the pigtail off the stock lift pump, hard wired it into the Holley blue pigtail and then plugged the Vulcan extender to the stock lift pump harness and to the holley blue.
I stretched the spring and get 16-17 at idle and 13 WOT. Some times it varies clear down to ten psi, but never below that.
I've heard that the extra 3 feet of wire is bad for the Blue= too much voltage drop, and possibly bad for the ecm, too much amperage through it's relay setup. So some guys buy a 15 amp relay and run #14 or #12 wires from the battery to the relay and then to the Blue. They then use the stock lift pump harness as a signal wire for the relay to turn it on.
I don't hear the pump running accept for when I first hit the key and wait for the wait to start lamp to turn off.
With the big line kit, I had enough 1/2" to go from the pushlock plastic barb on top of the tank, to the Blue by the transfer case. Then 1/2" up the stock filter with high flow fittings. Then 3/8 line from filter outlet to VP injection pump with a tapped 90* fitting so I can monitor fuel psi and temp right at the VP44 inlet.

i used the holley blue with the vulcan kit and the draw straw. i had the in tank fuel pump so i installed the draw straw, put a 1/2" inline FF, the holley blue, and changed all the banjo fittings to what came with the kit. so its 1/2" from the tank to the IP. i run 15 psi at idle and 12 at WOT. for wiring i used the factory fuel pump wire and relay, i just used a blue butsplice to connect the wire from the pump to the factory wire. i didnt use the regulator. of course you could make your own kit but i decided to buy the kit. i am very pleased with my setup.
