Holley Black

I have a Holley Black FP in the factory location running with a Carter 4601 in the frame rails. I see 20 PSI at idle, and 8 at WOT under load with bith fueling boxes. Recently the Holley has developed a leak in the housing, dripping mildly after shutting off the motor. Anybody seen this before? LE

Re:Holley Black

That's not good pressure. I'm seeing over 30 at idle (not good) and nothing less than 13 at WOT with an Edge Comp. The plunger on mine keeps sticking. I'm waiting for a PE4200 to come in the mail so I can drive my truck again. ;D

Re:Holley Black

BigBlue,
Has PE fixed the bug in their pumps? I heard they pulled them off the market due to an issue and would not sell them again until they resolved the problem.
I need one of those pumps also, as my Holley Blue hit zero at WOT last night at the drag strip . (13 at idle)

In your sig, do the kills count if they are on the drag strip, not the street? I generally don't street race.

Thanks,
Chris

Re:Holley Black

The kill counts are all street races. Some I have started, other's I haven't. The closest drag strip to me is Houston Raceway Park in Baytown. Bout an hour away from me.

I am getting a 3 month old pump. Before they started going bad. Guy bought two, one for his truck and one for the work truck. Never got around to putting it on his work truck. He bought the pumps at the same time and he has 15K on his pump and it is fine. He's running big numbers (don't know if he wants me to give them out).

Re:Holley Black

With only my Comp box my pressures don't go below 11psi. I don't have an issue with the pressure, just the pump leaking. LE

Re:Holley Black

I'd make sure all of the botls on the bottom of the housing are tight. Check for possible cracks in the pump as well. If you have a cracked housing, maybe a little JB Weld or something could provide a temporary fix until you can get a hold of Holley and get them so send you a new one (whether it be warranty or buying a new pump).

Re:Holley Black

Tightened up all of the bolts on Friday and it still leaks. Anyboby know the difference between an Holley Blue and the Black? If I have to replace it I want to get the best pump in there. Thanks. LE

Re:Holley Black

As far as I know, the Black is supposed to flow more, 140 GPH vs. 110 GPH.
