I pegged my 1600* gauge for a second. I was towing and forgot to turn the comp down to level 1 I think of it as cleaning the carbon out of the cylinders I normally dont let it get above 1300*.

I can peg my 1600 deg. gauge really easy, ive done it a few times. hate to do it though, ive been smokin the tires and i know the temps hit 1700- maybe 1900 cause it pegged the gauge and i left it pegged for maybe 6-7 seconds. im sure my motor loves me. hahaha

I think I melted my guage. I do about 6 pulls a year plus I tow a lot during the summer. this last pull it went from the normal PEG position to 300* then 0* and has never worked again. Actually I think the brain box went out but since I have white faced guages in the dash I might as well get boost and pyro guage to match.

On my old setup, we've seen over 1800 before, during pulls. On this etup the highest I can hit is 1550-1600.

My 01 never went over 1300 and normally 1150--1200 when towing hard. I have rebuilt it twice because of melted #6 the first time and melted number1 the second time

Total of 178000 miles.

i have no clue, my gauge only goes to 1600 and with the boxes on, it pegs it quickly which is not good, i think i need some twins.

either ways you go

twins will better keep your egts cooler from the start, whereas a large single will let them get a little higher before it actually starts to kill the egts.. id say twins all the way.. Which is why i want em
