Higher Egt's with tranny built now

ok lets start from the beginning. I have had high egt problems with this truck ever since i have got it. i have started a thread and really haven't had any questions answered. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=81496 well this weekend i got my tranny back together because it blew up. i put a gorend TC and VB in and had the rest of the tranny put to stock because Dave said they use stock clutches in their trannys. but anyways, i got it back together and drove it around. i am seeing higher egt's now with my tranny built. i know with my set up i was getting to 1500*-1600* before turbo. and now i am pegging my 1600*+ at a lower speed. i really think there is something wrong with my truck to be getting these temperatures . I have done everything i can think of. what could be wrong inside my engine that causes high egt's?

please help me. i can not think of anything else to do. i got my bigger turbo like everyone said and then injectors and i am still where i was. no one else with the same setup have had this problem.

Well a built auto will load the truck more causing higher egts. I read thourgh that other thread and the only thing I could think of would be a bad gauge or bad box. Have you tried either of those?

I just had a random thought. Are you sure there isnt a rag or something in one of the pipes from like a turbo install or something? I know that has caused problems before.

It would seem that if there was that high of temps when your at STOCK then there would be some black smoke or something. Is there?

When you tried different egt gauges, did you try a new egt probe, if it had an amplifier box a new one of them? Whats your fuel milage like? Are there any codes when you scan it?

I'm sorry you are having this trouble still. Have you looked inside your muffler? Maybe it is plugged up somehow.

Oh ya...I guess I just read the 'Custom Exhaust' and missed the 'straight pipe' lol.
I can't help you on the Autometer gauge.

The amp box would be a little black box you put on your fire wall or under the dash. The pyro probe wire go to it, then the wire from the amp box go to your gauge. Not shure if autometers have them. Seem like you dont have it , or you would have changed it when you did the other gauage.

How is your fuel milage?

Does anyone think mabey the previous owner had a different ecm in the truck, and that causing some smoke at take off higher boost at stock and the hot temps?

my fuel milage isn't that good because i have big tires. i say i am getting 12 to 13 mpg in town. no i don't have a black box. and also i notice when i get on the gas its black smoke when i take off and then it really clears up. it doesn't get that bad. does that help with the high egt's
