Headrest TV

Anybody ever put tv's in the headrests of a 99. It would be great for long drives with the kids.

fo shizzle my nizzle. dem screenz iz of da hizzy. in all seriousness. i think they are a good idea. only problem i have with them is what they call "hater vision". its when you put screens in the headrest of your back seat. but the kids will love the little tv's. be sure to get some w/ a jack for earphones, that way you dont have to get distracted by the little mermaid.

I just installed two 6.5" inch screens in my 01 with wireless infared headphones. Best money I have spent in years, we used to have one of those portable units but putting on the center console not only creates a flying object in a crash but the kids would lean to the middle of the truck to watch the tv, I was aftraid that in a crash they would get hurt bad at that angle. Mine has a remote control that the sensor is wired in the gear shift console, the kids just tell me what to push when a menu screen is up. Very easy install for your average wrench head, just be slow and methotical about cutting your head rest. I made aluminum brackets the the unit mounts to, some people use zip ties but I diudn't think that was a good idea mine a bolted to the seat frame.

I got a really good deal at a local car stero shop. I bought the audivox 6.5" dual screens with infared earphones and dvd unit. Audiovox is not a top of the line unit but the picture and sound quality is really good. I got the whole setup for $500 CDN, pretty sweet deal as far as I can tell.

I've seen a set at Wal-Mart that has straps on the little TV's so you don't have to cut anything and it's removable.
