HD valve springs

I am pulling the head to get it oringed and I figured while its off to put some valve springs in. I don't really need them right now because of the 160 pump can't rev high anyways but later when more fuel comes in I think it will make things much easier. Do I just need the exhaust side? Where is an inexpensive place to get them?

Thanks,

Josh

You will need both the intake and exhaust side. Exhaust only is for running an exhaust brake. I ordered a 4k gov kit for my 95 that had 12v springs for an extra $100 bucks from piers. You shoild be able to buy them by themselves from them. I dont know the cummins part number.

I agree with the guys...put in the 60#'ers and be done with it...they're actually pretty cheap.
Also, ask if they have any udated valve stem seals for you too...they are a good item to do while you're in there....I believe they have a "boss" on the bottom that the spring rests on and keeps the retainer from crawling up the stem at higher RPM's.

I found some on this website http://www.savesave.com/hdppricelistexel.htm for 6 buck a pop. Just took a while to go through the part numbers. Does this sound like a good deal.

Bob , do you have a pt number for those valve seals?

Thanks,

Josh

make sure they have the white strip down the side and a slight bee hive shape to them.

Havnt ordered anything on there yet. I just googled the pt number and "cummins" for the search and I found that place. Its kind of a pain to search for parts but they have tons of stuff.
