Has anyone put a common rail 5.9 into a 2nd generation yet?
in this month's diesel power magazine there is an article on a guy who put a 5.9 common-rail in a clean-looking first gen. i think i would rather have a third gen truck with a 12-valve though.
Then again so would that 1237hp 01 12v!!! good god that dyno run looks clean
Buy the book, read the article, sub your 2gen body for that 1gen, go from there - you'll need the complete C\R truck for the wiring harnesses, ECM, PCM, BCM, inst cluster, everything - the computers are all on an intranet, even talking to the instrument cluster to display speed, tach, temp pressure, fuel, everything, air cond, you name it, it's in there.
I've carefully considered it, but the 12v is entirely too fast to work thru the extra hassle of modifying the instrument cluster - for now
