Had to happen sooner or later

Well it's started. I was screwing around the other day with the comp on 5x5. Got on it from a light and all was good until it hit OD and then it slipped. It wasn't pretty either. Oh well. I can't complain. I've been pushing this thing far beyond it's limits for a while now. I can't say enough good things about the DTT valvebody as that's the only thing I'm running in my tranny. Stock torque converter and all. Let me give you a back ground of my tranny.

When it was new I did powerbrakes and burnouts left and right. I'd stall it up at lights for minutes at a time. I bought an ATS TC and my dad made me send it back so I was determined to blow it. So for a week at every stoplight I stood on the brakes and the gas just to try and blow it. Never happened. Then I put a comp on and beat the tar out of it. The I put a lock up switch on it and lug the crud out of it with it on 5x5 and never hurt it. I then put a DTT valve body in it and installed a set of 275 injectors. I lugged it and locked it up and I never had a problem. Then I put 100hp injectors and put down 398hp and 820 torque. Been running that for a couple of months and up until the other day it's been holding great.

Now, I don't tow at all. The most I tow is a 2000lb trailer for a month through the streets of college station. It's all city driving but nothing crazy. I don't drag race on the track and I try not to go full throttle from a dead stop unless the guy next to me wants to play. I'm horrible about maintenance on it. In 98,600 miles I've changed the fluid 3 times.

These tranny's are a lot stronger than everyone thinks. Granted, if I towed heavily, I definately would have not gone with the bigger injectors and if I had I would have turned the comp down or untapped the wire. All in all, I'm very impressed with my tranny. It's definately been put through it's paces. Now, hopefully in the next couple of months I'll be giving yall a review on my new DTT tranny.

A few people I know have had similar luck.

Had one buddy with a 98.5 with an EZ and DDIIIs that beat the Edit out of his with an all stock tranny. Same as you, burnouts, brakestands, everywere, all the time.

Truck now has 130k with stock tranny.

Another buddy got 175k out of his stock tranny on a 99 with an EZ and no abuse but towing a 5th wheel camper all the time. Has 270k now.

And I know another guy(that is probably buying my VanAaken and gauges) with an 01. Bought the truck with 40k. Now has 130k. Put on about 90 k in the last year and a half. Constantly tows a 50' 5th wheel, with 4 or 5 cars on it. No problems either.

Been impressed with the durability of the autos I have been around.

Why couldn't you keep the tc and you can get all these other bombs?

Well I bought the TC while I still lived at home. And technically I'm not suppoesd to have any bombs on the truck but hey, what mom don't know don't hurt her.

My Dad just figured out Friday night I had Twins I just happened to be working on the truck, getting ready to dyno when he came by

I can't repeat his exact response, but it was something like "What exactly is wron in your head?"
