Red face GSK tips, sorry to bring this back up.

Ok, I have decided to go with the washer GSK for now. What size inner dia. and outer dia. washers? and bout how thick should I get em? I found the thread before with all this info but I cant find it again. I wasn't gonna do this mod, but I have seen so many positive things from the upgrade I cant resist. Any help would be very helpful, Im gonna try to do it tomorrow on my day off. Thanks yall. Now, I know to count clicks, have a magnet and I think Im gonna go from the side. If Im careful I should be able to do it without calipers right? Also if I turn the motor over from the alt. to get to them how far should I turn it over at a time to not pass up the springs? And is there any real power gain or does it feel that way because it fuels longer in the RPM's?

Use a washer that is 1.000 inch outside max,, you will have to drill out the hole to make it bigger,,I believe 1/2 in hole. When i did mine i used a 7/16 washer as it was .920 outside and drilled out the center. They were about .070 thick. I also found setting them about .040 worked best on my setup.

I have since changed both my trucks to the true 3,000 GSK kits. I did like the washer mod,, but i found the throttle pedal was way to touchy for me. And to try and get it idled up when it sits in the cold was almost impossible,, but with the springs it is easy to hold the idle at 1200 . All depends on what you are looking for, plus with the washers and the touchy pedal it was not fun for winter driving. Enjoy the washer mod,,it will make the truck seem like a whole new truck for you
