Question Grill blanket inserts

Is there anyone who makes inserts for the grill that will block out the airflow for the colder climes. Today was my first cold morning leaving for work in my truck. I let it warm for about 10 minutes (as I used to with my Expedition) before leaving. I was about half way to work 3 miles away (and down thru the city) before the air got even close to warm and the gauge moved off it's lowest (140) pearch.

Good alternative is to take a piece of cardbaord large enough to slip between the radiator and the AC evap. and still leave enough at the top to pull it back out
Cut a 5" hole in the center (this allows the cold air to hit the thermal fan clutch keeping it disengaged).
Slip it in when the temps start dropping in the AM, it's easy to pull out if the temps go up during the day for the afternoon drive home.
Been doing mine like this since '99.
In REAL cold stuff, I use Winter Fronts to block off the grille openings.

Yup.
Lund as well as several other companies make them.

These are shown on a Ford, but they also have them for different makes, including 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Gen Dodge.

I have the FIA winter front, it has 2 openings that fold back for warm afternoons. They also have a bug screen, both work really well. Look in my pics.

Can't remember where or how much. Do an internet search for FIA winter fronts, that should get it.

As GO 4LO said....I got the kit from Eric...think it was $25. Works perfect, and you can put all four pieces in or some, depending on the outside temp.
btw, the pic that Shovelhead posted are Eric's kits.

I got a set of Eric's as well.

Can't go wrong for $25 bucks.

(They might have been $20 when I got 'em though )

I have the "Summer/Winter Truck Grille Cover" system like Copenhagenjunkie mentioned. I bought mine from Cabelas for $40 (Cabelas.com). With the cottonwood seeds and bugs in the spring/summer, the screen comes in handy. The cold front keeps the engine temp at 190 even in sub-zero weather while in stopped traffic (when it snows, I have a 2-to-4 hour drive home from work). The system comes with "self adhesive" snaps that didn't want to stay put. I replaced them with stainless snaps which I fastened to the grill with stainless steel screws.
