Got Smoke?

newby again just wondering if there are any tips on getting my truck to smoke a little bit more. With it being all most bone stock it doesnt smoke a whole lot. I dont want to do expensive mods. Maybe there is a little cheap trick that you guys know about.

It takes money to roll coal. The more fuel, the more smoke.

No cheap tricks for your year truck, look into a Van Aaken box, they are relatively cheap and will give you about 65 HP and a little smoke. For the real thick stuff you are going to need an Edge Comp or Smarty.

I don't know the Johnny you speak of, but his name is awful cool.

Don't get too silly with mods with that auto, they can leave you stranded if you know what I mean?

You want smoke take off the turbo or like black diesel said take off the intercooler boots. Unplugging the map/boost sensor works abit but throws codes. Why do you want smoke?

Mike, if you unplug the map sensor on a stocker she will go into limp mode. Gotta have a edge comp or ez (maybe a few others) to do this

Good question, and also a garbage bag over the air filter will give cheap smoke...

stacked 99,

Some of these post are less than correct, all in good fun.

I wouldn't fixate so much on the "smoke". Get a good knowledge base of why trucks smoke and then decide if "smoke" is the sole objective for you with regards to owning a diesel truck.

My truck can smoke, but that is not why I add the performance parts listed in my sig.

Throw on a Smarty and set it to level 9...$650 for a Smarty. Then get that stacked with an Edge Comp, get some bigger injectors, bigger turbo, etc..
