Talking Goodbye BHAF, Hello AFE!

So I finally ditched the BHAF and got the AFE. I got the stage I, Proguard 7, with torque tube and all I can say is HOLY CRAP! My truck has a new found Gitty-up and go! When you give this thing fuel, it really goes!

-1st test run tonight here is what happened. The freeway on ramp by my house has a 6-7% incline to get on the freeway. As I'm making my turn I'm going about 20-25mph and as I'm coming around the corner to start the run I grab 3rd, 1/4 of the way up I'm grabbing 4th, by the time I'm topping the incline I'm shifting into 5th and hitting 80mph. This truck really moves! I am very impressed!

I have heard from a very reliable scource that the BHAF will actually make no hp gains for you...where as the afe will. There were some dyno test done. Maybe he posted them here?

I tried running a BHAF with my current setup.. Was not real impressed, I couldn't hear the turbo much at all.. I put an AFE MEGA CANNON filter system on and WOW what a difference!
Truck flat out got up and MOVED, and the turbo whistle was amazing!

IMHO I don't think the BHAF flows enough air for 400RWHP...

Very much agree'd! When I took off from the house last night, up the street, the wife commented on how different the truck sounded, she said it sounded like a motor? (She was talking about the turbo spooling)

AFE=good product!

I ran the AFE Stage I for awhile and can honestly say it provided a seat of the pants difference. Unfortunately the turbo whine was killing the last of my hearing. I've returned to a stockbox w/Amsoil drop-in and with my mods am not pulling down the filterminder which tells me I'm doing allright. AFE makes a good product. I also ran the BHAF for awhile and noticed no difference over stock.

Any noticeable difference with just torque tube? Trying to debate if its worth the money.

Also, I am pretty sure I saw your truck in Four Wheeler or Petersens off road.

Nice truck!

Thanks! And that was my truck in Four Wheeler. I would have to say yes, because the tube is bigger then the factory elbow, the way it is shaped the air delivery seems a lot smoother then the sharp factory bend, the air flow looks like it just drops into the turbo.
