Goerend or BD performance VB & TC

Has anyone had better luck or service with one or the other of these brands? I am wanting a valve body and torque converter setup that will be trouble free and is built to handle some lugging. I don't do alot of pulling but when I do I want it to hold up. Please let me know what you think!

I will 3rd Dave. The best warranty and customer service out there IMO, so if you have any problems with it; he will fix it. He told me if I could slip my converter(single disc), that I may need a VB to go with it, but said he would warranty it anyway. I can slip my converter a little, but I am getting a Goerend VB soon. Cant wait.

Eric, what gears do you have in your truck? Dave recommended that 3.54 gears(which I have) should use a triple disc converter. I only pull about 20% of the time so I wonder if I need a triple or should I go with a single disc. I also am going to get one of his valve bodies and stronger 1-2 shift lever. How much can you lug your single converter? Do you have to try pretty hard to slip it now? I would appreciate and opinions! Shane

Here is a link to the DTT web site forum and what bill has to say about the triple disk TC's.
Read and see what you get from it.
It steered me away from the tripple disk.

Each of the major tranny companies has their own theories and ways of putting the power to the ground.

Some believe in pressure, some believe in surface area, some go with a little of both, each having it's own pro's and cons.

Talk to each of the major companies personally, and go with whomever you get the right "feeling" from.

Bill will "steer" you away from anything that isn't done his way and the "Wolf Pack" will try to tell you that Bill's way is the only way. Don't get me wrong, DTT does great work, but this attitude really put me off on DTT.

Can't argue with a lifetime TC warrenty and no conditions. I've run mine for over 60K and it still works better than the day I put it in (Dave tweaked the VB for me on his dime ).

Just got back from Daves place last night.

Dave is THE MAN. I'd never take my truck anywhere else to get trans work done. He is now doing work on the Allison 1000 transmissions as well!
