GM Wheels
I am mounting 19.5x6.00 rims on my Dually. Pilot holes seem to line up pefectly with my 16" rims, so I am 99% sure they will bolt up ok. The GM system uses a clamping plate with conical bottom nuts to hold the wheels on. I received the plates when I bought my rims, but the lug nuts aren't cheap and look really chintzy!
My question is, do I need these clamping plates? The wheel centers look to be the same or beefier than the 16" rims, so I want to reuse my two piece lug nuts. Besides the fact I already have them, then I can reuse the plastic center caps I have.
I am painting the wheels black, so the chrome center caps will look cool. I hope to get a set of stainless trim rings or skins in the future. I hope to mount the new rims/tires this weekend, so any and all opinions are greatly appreciated!
