Getting the timing to stay put?

Anyone have any tips to keep the timing from slipping? I thought I made have read something about an updated nut? Any help is appreciated

Here's a photo of the nut upgrade. It's from Saskatoon Diesel Services Their part # is AT90. Price in 2002 was $14.29

I cleaned the shaft and gear with fast drying electrical cleaner, then torqued the nut to 180 ft.-lbs. No problems as of yet.

I just shoot a little brake clean on the shaft/ inside of the gear, and then blow it out with compressed air. It has worked good so far.

I was worring about 170
Yep electrical contact cleaner here too.

Thanks for the input, I think I will order the nut and put electrical contact cleaner on it as well

Its a 22 or 24mm thread. If it can't take 180 ft.lbs., then there is a problem.
