Gauge pod

I have a set od di-pricol gages coming for my new to me 95 4x4, i am wondering if i should go with a windsheild pod , or an A pillar pod? Is theremuch cost difference? is one alot harder to install?

and finally , where can i find them? (prices, preferably in canada)

I personally don't like the A-pillar pod for visibility reasons, but everyone I know who is gauged up is using that set up, and either don't feel the same way or aren't 'fessing up! I drove a 3-pod A-pillar truck about 2 years ago, and was REAL nervous about visibility....as you know, the existing A-pillar is bad enough without the gauges there...

- drive someone's truck with that mounting and see what you think -

I have mine on the piller and visability is less but not buy much. I have seen some people on here make a four hole gauge pod for the piller buy adding a single piller pod to the three. Some realy cool installs I have seen are to put them in the dash above the gauge cluster and sunken a little into the dash. Someone ese will have to tell you were the pics of all this stuff is.

kcastun,

We have most of the mounts pictured on our site, sounds like you should consdier the overhead mount, they are available in 2,3 or 4 gauge designs and go above the rear view mirror next to the headliner. Best visibility and totally out of the way too! Call us if you have any questions etc.

I would much prefer the window mount , i am just concerned with my wiring and tubing for the gages being long enough to reach all the way up there? i know i can extend the hose for my boost gauge easily, but i don't know if the leads for the pyro and tranny temp can be , or can easily be lengthened if need be?

I think i will wait until my gages come , and do some measuring , to see if it will all reach.

Mark , expect a call from me on monday or tuesday eve, My name is Jayme Miller.

I have mine mounted in my center HVAC vents above the radio. There are two pics of it in my gallery. I need to figure out how to post the pics.

You can check my gallery. I run an A-pillar set up as well as a dash pod. Gives you an idea of looks.

If you are going to put a fuel pressure gauge in, the instructions say "for the most accurate readings the guage should be mounted as close as possible to the same height as the position where the fuel is being tapped from" in other words as level as possible.

I have the same mount as txdiesel does, and I love it, not a big fan of the pillar mounts, just my opinion, but I will say with a set of autometer pro comp's with the green bulbs in them I do get a little glare off the windshield, but I think I might get a couple of the chrome guage bezels from the peterbilt shop that have the hoods/visors that stick out, think that might get rid of the glare a bit if the will fit the autometers, with my old Hewitt guages & just the clear bulbs in them I didn't notice any glare, not sure of the difference???? might want to think about the glare? Anyone have this set up? Any pics of one installed in a truck?
Thanks, Billy.
