I found a deal on a Garrett BHT3 turbo and was wondering, would this be a good choice for a bottom on a custom build. I have been following the stock turbo twin build, but not really coming up with much on this specific unit. I am trying to pile up some parts to make a smoker, so the wallet does not get skinny all at once. Possibly a spring build when I have the truck torn apart for paint.

The ht3b is a reverse flow turbo so the piping will be more complicated than using the s400 which is so popular now. Look at power by poole's page for some good pics.

 

A BHT3B is a good reliable turbo, the only complication is piping takes a bit more work. When you find it found out what size housing it has; 26cm general street/hotrodding and 23cm for towing/street... IMO

 

Go s400 the the time in labor you save will make it worth it you will also be happier with more power! That's what i will be using under my 62 with my next mod..............

how is the one you are talkin about built? im wanting to put the turbo on the truck fender, not under the lil turbo like most do,

wouldn't it be good for me?
