Fuel System
Fuel System
I NEED TO UPGRADE THE STOCK FUEL SYSTEM ON MY 99 MODEL TRUCK AND I WAS THINKING ABOUT GOING WITH THE WILDCAT MAXIMUM FLOW KIT, BUT ARE THERE ANY BETTER FUEL SYSTEMS AND WHAT ARE YALLS OPINIONS OF THE WILDCAT AND OTHER SYSTEMS
I've heard nothing but good things about that system. But I decided to go the cheaper route and went down to napa about replaced my fuel lines w/ 3/8" rubber hose that meets diesel requirments. I did this when I yanked out the crappy stock lift pump and replaced it w/ a Holley Black. Some say the rubber hose also helps w/ pulsations. A few connections later and a relay, I idle at 18 psi and can drop it down to only 15 psi.
I am a fan of the FASS system as it also pulls the air from the fuel before it hits the pump. From my experience, about 90% of the pump failures are from cavitation chewing away the stator and the delivery valve cutoff port, and dissolved air in the fuel is a huge contributor to that problem.

So did you go all the way to the VP44? They have the metric adapters at NAPA ?
I used the cheap route on my FP gauge too....300psi rated hydraulic hose....I hope it will handle diesel over the long run
No, I just went from the tank to the holley black, then ran that to the weber fitting into the stock fuel filter assembly). I need to finish running 3/8" hose to the vp44, but haven't had time yet.
