fuel pressure regulators

After all the reading on fuel systems I did. What about mounting a fuel pressure reg right at the input to the vp44? That way consistant fuel pressure all the time??? Or is this a way to trash the IP?

Are you getting too much fuel I don't understand why you will need it. Most dont have enough fuel to the vp44 so they add a pusher pump or a whole new pump

No just thinking of upgrading the fuel system. Instead of having the pressure rise at idle, a reg would keep pressure constant, well as long as the pump can keep the demand up at WOT. I'm looking at a pusher pump. I read in the service manual the valve open at about 14psi in the VP44, so if I kept 12psi all the time there??? Also with more than need flow, the VP would cool a little better. Just trying to research before I buy anything
