Fuel pressure question

Hey Guys, A while back I put a fuel pressure gauge on and I had only 8psi and I could drop it to "0" in a heartbeat. I installed a holly blue back by the tank and went to 21 at idle and I could n't drop below 14 at WOT. The other day I look and I have 14 at Idle, 10 at cruise and 6 or so at WOT. I am assuming that since the holly puts out 14 I am running on it alone now. My question is this: since I am running the gauge just before the VP44 am I O.K. with this pressure for a while or am I in any danger?

Do you still have the stock lift pump in there? If so, rip the lift pump out and run on the holley alone. Those pressures sound alright to me. If you want a little more, try stretching the bypass spring some on the holley.

Thanks BigBlue,
Will keeping the stock lift pump in there case any problems? I have some hi-flow banjos that I have not put in yet. Do you think that putting these in now would do any good as far as keeping the pressure from dropping so fast when I give it the juice?

If the stock pump is dead, then your putting a lot of strain on the Holley trying to force it through a dead pump. I'd go with Wildcat Diesel's Max Flow kit and skip the banjo's all together. If you don't want to go that route, then the banjos will help some.
