Fuel Pressure guage - who's got one?

I've seen a member's photo gallery that had pictures of a really nice fuel pressure setup. It showed some nice stainless/braided lines and a nice guage mount in the cab...

WHO WAS IT? Fess up and I'll buy ya BEER...

I really want to hook up a guage, for obvious reasons.

Does anybody have a "How TO" on this project?

ie: Where to get the parts, fittings, guages, and suggestions?

THANK you for any help that anybody can give.

Pete, parts are available from a number of places. www.wildcatdiesel will have everything you need including needle valve, ss braided line etc. IMHO, mechanical guages are more accurate and are virtually problems free - but, you have to be willing to run diesel into the cab (which isnt a big deal if you use quality parts and install it correctly).

I believe the pic you are looking for is here (Shovelhead's mechanical setup):

OR

RattlinRam's electric setup:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...cat/500/page/2

I believe both trucks are 99's.....excellent pics guys.

PS: ya owe me a BEER

Hey, thanks for the information. I'll check it out..

I was reading another thread and saw some pictures from Shovelhead...

IT WAS HIM that had the pic's of the fuel setup...

I have been checking out everybody's photo gallery since I found Shovelhead's picture of his fuel pressure setup.

BTW, you have a sweet truck! I like the snowy background.

Dr. Evil,

Will the USPS send beer? ('cause I do owe you one, thanks!)

Are you in Alberta or Alabama?

If Alberta: How far off of Hwy1 (Alaska / aka Alcan) is Hanna? I will be heading up again in a year or so, I can bring some beer...

Thanks Pete,
My whole gauge setup was purchased from Rod @ Wildcat Diesel Performance.
(see my sig for a quick link to his website)
"Professional" installation by me...........

He has the whole setup from needle valve to guage.
He's also one of the most Customer Service oriented shops that I've ever had to pleasure to do business with.

Hey guys did you all use thread sealant on the line from the needle valve/filter to the gauge ? If so what kind? (compatible w/diesel).
I need to get mine in this weekend

Another option that i have seen quite a few guys do is take a 0-35 psi boost guage or oil pressure gauge and plumb a flex line into it.

appears to work quite well since most FP gauges i have seen go to 15 psi and the boost gauge is sealed like an oil pressure gauge.

I used regular plumber's pipe dope on all the NPT fittings, .....Teflon Tape is a no-no. Of course, all AN fittings go together without sealant.

Permatex also makes a real good Diesel fuel compatable sealant.

I'm leaving for Albuquerque, NM in less than a week so I needed to install a temporary fuel pressure guage.

There are some pic's of the inexpensive guages that I installed on my truck on my photo gallery link to the left.

If anybody has any questions, feel free to contact me about install. They cost me $10.13 each.
