Fuel plates????
Fuel plates????
I'm looking into getting a fuel plate for my 3500. I was going to instictively get the TST #10 plate, but after looking on their website, I realised they don't reccommend ussing the #10 plate on the 94-95 Manual transmission applications.
Instead they reccomend at least the #8, #6, or #5
I have the #10 in my 2500 and love it. But now I'm wondering if I should be running a different plate.
Also. Been looking at PDQperformance, they offer a plate kit also, their figures are about even with the #'s for a TST #8 plate in my application. The upside to them is there is a dealer that carries these in stock locally.
Price wise they are almost identical.
My intentions are to squeeze a lot more power out of the 3500 since it's my cheaper play toy.
Thanks guys
Nick

Nick, I'm running a 5 and it does make good power, however at the upper rpm side of things it'll run warm, I always back out of it, but 1450 is easy to make in 5th.
I'm wanting to try a 10, reason being per Joe Donnelly (who designed the 10) said it fuels heaver on the lower end, then drops off on the upper side of the plate, fueling less in the upper rpm range.
Lots of guys on the TDR have started using the 10 in most everthing and just sliding in back or forward to tune it.

Not really that it isn't recommended, but if you notice on the TST chart, they say anything under the 230hp/605tq is N/R. Don't know why. They changed the chart a year or so ago. The #s used to be listed.

The hp/tq #s are basically a guide for a given plate. They are assuming the plate will be installed in the stock location. Slide it ahead, more fuel (power) and EGTs.

Hey guys........... what is a fuel plate and what are its perfomance enhancements? Would it be recommended in my 98 2500 turbo 24 valve? I have no mods at this point and tow once in a blue moon, but would like some more zoom.......mostly in the low-end.
I think they are saying a Stock Tranny cant handel the load. I call around W/C and Desert Diesel Parts and a few places like that, the first thing they asked was if I had a stock Tranny. When I told them I have the Suncoast Set up they said a #10 would work great. They also said to get the 3k Gov Spring Kit. That helps also. I am going to be ordering my plate in the next few weeks, after I get all my B/D gagues installed.
T Deeezel. Do you have a 98 or a 98.5? I dont know much about the 24v. I have the 12V. I know you can do more with the computers than I can.

I would recommend going with the #10 plate in your manual.
Sometimes I don't understand why that chart is goofy like that. The #10 is one of the biggest fueling production plates, much more than a 8 or 6.

just get a #10 and be done with it. there should only be 3 plates, a #10, a#10/0 hybrid[killer street plate] and a #0, full race. i run a #10/0 on my truck, home made, but it is controlable for smoke on the bottom end and full fuel when you want it. but it does get pretty hot on the big end.

With the 5 speed, I think the potential to destroy trannies is less esp since I just got through going through mine.
Gess it's time to buy a 2nd #10 then, this time for the 3500
BTW, Anyone got an extra laying around they want to get rid of?

Hey guys I saw this plate on Ebay. I talked to guy and it sounds like someone has copied some of the other plates on the market. You can buy just one for $75.00 or all 4 for $275.0
Ebay Plate
Anyone ever use these plates or does a guy just want to get a Brand name one?
