Front or Rear Runner for Pyro Install on 97?

I'm installing a pyro gauge on a 97, should I drill hole for the thermocouple in the front or rear runner on the manifold?

Rear for any truck. Don't drill the front like I did on accident..

i drilled the rear for my adrenaline EGT protection and the front for my pillar guage.
