From the Holset Turbocharger Fundamentals page:

As you put your foot on the accelerator the wheel starts spinning faster. Small Turbos (e.g. Holset H1C's or HX35's) can spin at up to 140,000 rpm, that's 2333 revs per second or over 2000 km per hour.

Imagine an alternator at that speed
Thats why i almost LMAO, when a guy told me, he would weld a shaft with a pulley to a BIG Cummins 350 turbo, and install it, belt driven onto a ford gas 302

The smallest charger I have personallu used is the air pump off a Late 80's early 90's 302 mustang. it works perfectly for a 5 H.P. briggs engine on a go kart.

Yeah or u can drill a hole in the cover near the bottom were the flywheel is and route the hose back to the carb
