Fluidampr

I'm thinking about getting one of these. It is said to make improvements in stock and modified trucks. I have a store credit from a returned tonneau lid and most of the stuff they sell is very overprised ...they do however have a fluidampr for not as much markup (like their exhausts, intakes etc...which I can get online for much better prices)

what do you guys think about this mod. I'm going for daily drivability, fuel economy and efficiency mosty, and if it comes my way then mild/moderate power gains (i.e standard stuff...intake, exhaust programmer etc...) maybe down the road do some mild injectors etc...

I wouldn't really consider this mod, especially not at this stage when the truck is near stock, but I have to do something with the return credit.

thanks for the help guys

Sunir, TJ (Getblown5.9) has one and he likes it, might want to give him a PM to get more info on the install.

Thanks Ernie how ya been man? Yeah TJ has one but his truck is a beast compared to my truck...not sure if I will get the same value out of this mod that he would...

They have ISSPRO gauge kits also...(3 gauges plus a pillar pod) ...they have pyro/boost/trans for $550 and pyro/boost/Fuel Press for $650 ...have 'em in black with red needle or white face...

anyone have any info on the quality and how they like ISSPRO gauges...and/or how much a kit like the above goes for through online (I'm guessin' more along the lines of like $350 or so right?

They want $550 for the fluidampr ...

I might have some room to see if I can get these pretty high prices knocked down...I got the lid throught them and am kinda stuck with getting overpriced stuff on the return (they claim it was a "custom" part so exchange instead of refund is what they want to do...)

I've been running ISSPRO gauges for a few years and I like them. Seem to fit in nice with the stock '96 gauges the dodges came with. A few lose wires made the egt gauge jump around once or twice but nothing major..

Hey Sunir how's it going?
Forget about the Damper and get gauges. Gotta have a FP gauge in your 24V.
shop around to get prices and then get them to drop thier price for ya.
here is a pic of my Isspro at night, i've never had a problem with them. When you get the gauges we'll help ya put them in.

if you have the spare money to buy gauges besides the fluidamper, get the fluiddamper with the store credit. I got a Isspro gauge kit (pyro, boost, fuel) from VulcanPerformance for $298 shipped to my door, second day air. The kit included everything I needed, even Vulcan's own fuel pressure isolator (which I'm told is more reliable than the others). Only thing it didn't have was a wire harness for the gauge lights, that I had to make, but no big deal.

Do they have Fass fuel systems or Airdog? That is what I'd do is upgrade the fuel system.

Sunir:

I have a "Fluidampr" on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve and am very happy with it! As you are probably aware, the Cummins 5.9 12 valve engines are probably one of the loudest and right near the top in vibrations too.

IMHO, the install of the "Fluidampr" on my truck seems to have quieted the motor somewhat and I also believe it has helped immensly in keeping the engine alot smoother as my RPM's increase. I have Scheid's 5K governor spring kit in my truck and the engines RPM's rise very smoothly with very little vibration. I am glad I put it on the engine.

I agree that the fluidamper is a great mod....engine is quieter & smoother. I just think that fuel flow is most important to a vp44 equipped truck.

Sorry for the hijack.

http://www.vulcanperformance.com has a special going on Isspro gauge packages right now. $250. gets you Boost, EGT and Trans or FPplus pillar mount. No one can touch that.

Fluidamper makes a huge difference in tranny vibes with an unsprung dual disk clutch too. I'd skip it on a mildly bombed truck, but would recommend it for someone wanting to turn some rpms or run a dual disk.

A fuel system or guages both sound like good recommendations.

Thanks for the input guys...I have a FASS 150/95 - 1008 kit already. I got that from Rip at Source Automotive for $635.00 shipped...it's the 95 GPH kit which Rip says is good for stock to 550 hp, I was thinking of getting the 150 GHP FASS but Rip steered me toward this one.

I was going to get the guages (ISSPRO set) but the markup on them is so high with this shop I've seen the same kit for like around 250-300 vs. the rediculous 500 that these guys want...I was leaning toward a set of Stewart Warner Gauges as I've heard some good things about them from Ladell over at ECD...

I'm going to try and talk them down on the gauge kit and the fluidampr, see what they can do on pricing...

Out of curiouslity how does the fluidampr go on? is it quick and easy to do? or is it a difficult thing to do?

Sunir, that price is outragous for Isspros. For guages I highly recommend www.dieselmanor.com . Great prices, excellent customer service, and probably the most complete install kit on the market. They even send you a pre-terminated wiring harness for lighting, plug them into the back of the gauges, tap into power and ground and the wiring is pretty much done. I have the Isspro EV series in my truck, this is my third set of Isspros (3 different trucks) and I have never had a problem.
