Flex-a-lite electric fan

Have you guys seen these yet. I know there's been some threads about electric fans before, and the ones I remember reading came out to be that the fan wasn't moving enough air.
In my latest off-road mag there was a section on new products that were on display at the last SEMA show, and they showed this fan.
I wonder how much they are???
Anyway, check 'em out

Electric fans are not recommended for primary diesel engine cooling when the combined gross vehicle weight (CGVW) exceeds 18,000 pounds (truck, trailer and load)

That's from the bottom of the web page. I don't even think 5500cfm would be enough to cool a 500hp truck. My stocker struggles to keep up and it pulls 10k+ cfm. And that's unloaded.

I have thought about runnign electric fans down the road (one of the best mods on my Jeep). If one could not cool good enough you could set up a pusher-puller fan setup depending on space and whatnot. Just an idea

Been there - done that with an earlier Flex-a-Lite dual puller setup for MDTs (their Model 350) on my 1996 3500. These fans drew 50 amps. 50 amps x 12 volts = 600 watts = 0.8 horsepower. 0.8 horsepower will not move anywhere near enough air to cool a truck pulling a heavy 5th wheel on a hot day in Houston traffic or in the Texas hill country. It might work fine for a mall cruiser, though.

My education cost me $450. You're welcome to take advantage of it for free - or not.
