Finally got the head back on
Last night at about 3am I tightened up the last bolt on it. It seemed like it took forever yesterday to get the rocker arms to do what I wanted but o well its done. Pics will be up as soon as they are approved. I will also post a list of what everything cost whenever I round up all the reciepts. Now I gotta go run through a heat cycle then retorque all the studs.

Rockers
They can be difficult if you don't have the adjusters backed all the way off and you try to pull them down against a raised cam lobe with a head bolt.

Ok heres a list of what everything cost
Marine headgasket $93
Studs $390
Oil, aintfreeze, fuel and oil filters $70
Valve cover gaskets $25
Belt $30
Water temp sensor $40
Exhaust and manifold gaskets $30
Powder coating $60
Machine shop $85
Front seal $30
Grand total of $853
Now of course you can get out of it way cheaper than I did because theres alot of things on my truck that just needed to be replaced and I also finally got the Kdp done while i was in there.

You can rebuild these motors for quite cheap if you can do the work yourself. I just helped a buddy do an inframe on his 5.9 in a freightliner fl70. We replaced the head, pistons, rings, wrist pins, main bearings, rod bearings, head bolts all for around $2,200.00 cad. He found a local shop that supplies the oilfield with parts,Cummins wanted $400 ea for a piston, local guy $30 head gasket $85 cummins $240.
