finally dynoed

well i finally dynoed this weekend at the showdown in tulare,ca.

i put down 389 and 758 on motor. first run spiked at 409 and this dyno get was 25% low. all with a stock tranny and converter and if you dont believe me i showed everyone at the show i had a stock tranny and converter. any ways i won the towing division for dyno, i was the closest to 400 and i also won the Super Street Drags. came in first and the truck ran beautifull. a bearing went out on my 64 and i was able to put a SPS62 on and it worked great. had a great time and glad i got to meet people from here. thanks everyone.

pegged my gauge on the drag racing and got up to 1475 on the dyno. made 59psi racing and only made 41 on the dyno. blew my intercooler on the dyno. had a big hole bust on the lower passenger side and tried to JB weld it but it just blew out soon as i hit boost. i am truely amazed that i was able to manage those numbers with a stock tranny and tc. i mean i was racing a couple Dmaxs with efi live that had atleast 50hp more than i did and i beat them by atleast a truck and a half length in the 1/8 mile drags. they were a full 1/8 mile and they didnt get my speed but my time was 8.2 seconds. not bad for dirt. i definetly think i run 12s on the street now and really think when the Gtec said i was running a 12.8 that it was right. had a blast

How did you know a bearing went on the 64? Did you borrow a sps62 for the event or is that what you're running now? Great numbers especially considering the tranny is eating a bunch of hp.

Industrial Injection was there and i took one of them for a ride and they said my thrush bearing was going out. any time i made 43psi or more it made a horrible sound. i posted a thread last week about a nasty sound my truck made but it only made it past a certian boost. well the guys from Industrial Injection had a booth this weekend and helped me out in a tight spot. all i can say is Industrial Injection had the BEST customer support i have ever seen.

more or less yes. its kind of a if you like this one better you can have this one and if not then i get mine fixed and keep that one. as of right now i like this SPS 62 WAY better. spool up is faster but not alot faster but egts are WAY better. now i am 750 to 800 crusing and with boxes off i cant get over 1200. takes alot longer to peg my gauge as well and i am makin more boost with it. i absolutely love it. its a great turbo.

Great #'s. How was the power difference from the 62 vs. 64? I've got the 62 and thinking about getting it upgraded to the 64. Could use some insight.

honestly i would stay with the 62. it has a bigger exhuast wheel on it and it cools my truck better and makes more boost than the 64 does. the compressor wheel is a little smaller but i have a 3 stage nitrous kit going on so what ever i am lackin on the compressor side the nitrous will make up for. as for the dyno, i made 392 all motor no boxes with the 64 and made 386 with the 62. all around the 62 is a better turbo in my books.

Interesting dyno and interesting results with the turbo. Makes me feel better about my PS62/12.
