Finally!!
Finally got my high RPM sputtering stopped!
Along with smoothing the motor out all around. After cleaning all my filters in the fuel system I broke down, and bought a lift pump. Put it on tonight, and it revs smooth all the way to 3600rpm's. Time for a 4k now. It used to start sputtering around 2800rpm's in drive if I wound a gear out. And would only rev to about 3300rpm in park before it started. Now it is smooth under load all the way to 3k where it stops pulling in drive, and all the way to 3600 where it stops revving in park. This has been driving me nuts since i put the 3k in, and now I finally got it stopped
Sorry for the post about pretty much nothing. Im just excited. Oh, and I would have checked my FP, but my needle valve vibrated open on the old LP, and killed it from the pulsations.

high sputtering and low FP, now its down to 10 psi at idle, and sputtering is at 3400 rpms or so with the 4K kit, perhaps a new LP is in order for me...
Thanks for the tip man!

I thought you replaced your lift pump not long ago Rick? What about your overflow valve? Yesterday it was about 30*(it was about 60* the night of the initial test drive). It seemed to still pop some yesterday but it was still better than normal. I dont understand why just having colder weather would change anything, but I dont know. I guess its still not fixed completely but still much better. Maybe I need more timing now?

I did, just did some OFV work to my old stocker and all seems well right now. Im thinkin i need a tad more timing as well, but alas, that will come after the headwork
I have 40 psi at idle, and no less than 25 psi at WOT, with spikes as high as 55 psi on the FP..
