FASS and Tires

I am going to grab a FASS here in the next week.....which one is easier too install?
The FASS with the filters, or the cheaper FASS that just uses the factory filter??

Next ??? What is the largest size of tire that i can stuff under the truck? The suspension is fully stock.

If you are wanting all out horsepower get the FASS with filters.

I got the one with filter because it was all that the dealer had at the time. It is sure going to be easier to change the fuel filter now! I think that if they were both there I would get the one with out the filters because it would be cheaper. But the filter system on our trucks may be restrictive compared to the ones for FASS. It is a toss up I guess for me. If you are going to do some serious upgrades get the filters, if not don't worry about it if you like standing on your head to change the fuel filter.

As for the tires, many people are putting 315's on with no mods or a leveling kit. I was going to go with 305's just to give me a little more room when turning.

My 02 is a piece of cake to change the fuel filters I thought Dodge and Cummins did an awesome job on that one 15 minute job and that includes the time to bump the starter half a dozen times. I would just reuse the factory filter and save the money.
As far as tires go stock suspension I wouldn't go more than 285's.

Get the FASS without the filters. The 02's filters are to easy to change to justify the cost of the fass with filters. If your a 4x4 then you could stuff 33's in there with ease. With a 2" leveling kit you can fit 35's. If your a 2wd then probably a 265 is the biggest you can get. You could probably stuff a 33 under a 2wd but I don't know.

Ramtd03,
I have 305's and they rub a little. Now some 305's are smaller then the one that I have and some are bigger, alot bigger. It depends on the wheel tire combo. The manufactures specs are seldom correct. It's not easy. I would say if ya find something that ya like get them and if there 305's ya might be ok but know that ya might have to put in a leveling kit.
Good luck,
Topper

285s can be stuffed under a 4x2,

They will fit a bone stock 4x4 with no rubbing anywhere.

305/70 and 315/75 will fit a stock 4x4, but will rub slightly on the control arms.

This all assumes factory 16x8 wheels. If you have the 16x7s, don't go larger than 285.

i am sure i have the 16X8's....she cam stock with 265's on her.

As for the FASS...thanks alot guys, i was leaning towards the cheaper Pump based on the fact that the factory filter is easier too change!! I plan on hitting 500 hp, i dont think that should be a problem with just the pump.
