FASS 150/95 Loud Sounding

I just purchased an 02 3500 with the FASS 150/95. The Procomp 15# fuel pressure gauge has the needle bent and is toast and the pump is loud. I need to know the guage to replace it with and if the pump is supposed to be this loud. Also read where someone used a valve of some sort to control surge. Is this necessary and if so where do I find this?

The older FASS units were quite loud. I had one that was 2 years old, and I have one that is about 6 months old, and its like night and day between the volumes. They aren't the same models though, so that would change it.

You'd want a 30 psi gauge, or somewhere in that neck of the woods. Your pump is probably in the 17 psi range, so a 30 would put it around TDC of the gauge. If you're using a mechanical gauge, the needle valve would be good to contol pulsations, as well as a quick way of shutting off the flow should a leak develop. If you're running an electric gauge, I'd just plumb it in directly. Mines been that way for 2 years now and never a problem.

Brand name gauges

What gauge mfg. has a good selection to choose from? I looked on the Auto Meter website and had two choices-15# or 60# for the pillar mount size. Isspro has a 30# gauge but didn't have white face offered as best I could tell. The old gauge is mechanical and has what appears to be diaphram mounted on the firewall between the fuel line and gauge. Not sure what it does unless it serves a surge protector.

My 30 psi gauge is an Autometer Cobalt electric. Not a white faced gauge, but they do have them.

Ultralite (white face) Product #:4360

Thats a full sweep electric 0-30psi.

Thanks, If I can't find a mechanical that fits the pillar and existing plumbing, then I will switch to electric. Isspro lists one but it doesn't give the connection info, i.e. 1/8th inch npt and that sort of stuff.
