F1 injectors?

Looks like 4s for me
I am on the stock turbo, but I don't tow. Hopefully they will be ok. Anyone had 4s at 8000+ elevation NOT towing with a stock turbo? I don't live that high, but I do make trips up in the winter.

I'd also add that I daily drive with Mach 5's... with the caveat being that I have twin turbos. I don't have a smoke problem and since I don't talk or blab on my phone while I drive I don't have to worry about that either...
I consider heavy towing anything over say....15,000 lbs. That's with an Automatic. 6 speed members probably talk around 20,000 lbs.
I read about 200* difference on those turbos. But that's at top end - WOT. Towing might be, I suspect, a reverse scenario.

The Mach 4s will have somewhat reasonable EGTs on level ground and in "normal" towing situations.
The problem will come when you start to use the much higher levels of power that these injectors can provide. Just because you have 400hp worth of fuel doesn't mean that you can go charging up a hill as if you have a 400hp ISX under the hood.
Ultimate towing power available isn't just a function of having the fuel available, but you have to be able to burn it completely enough and early enough to keep temperatures under control.
To me, that means optimizing the turbo's "sweet spot" to coincide with the load and RPM conditions where you will use it the most.
The "sweet spot" of the stock turbo is too low for towing heavy with large amounts of fuel. If scale back the power, it works well-- but at higher power levels the turbine is too restrictive. You really need a larger turbine, not just a larger turbine housing imo.
This is where a larger turbine like the 71mm size used by HTT and II can be so beneficial. While it has a little more lag (it takes more gasflow to get into its range), it will also perform better at the higher flow levels required to tow at higher power levels.
If you're willing to limit the power you use, you can tow just fine with the M4s except for extreme cases (thin air, extra heavy load, etc)

. That being said I tow in relatively high elevations and I am going over passes every direction I go hauling about 15,000 to 18,000 lbs I know when I get these leaks fixed I will have better results but right now it is very HOT( I am easy seeing 1500 in no time flat if I don't pay attention which is not fun
) and I go up 7000 to 8000 foot passes in third gear and 25 to 30 mph when I am loaded. So I can't utilize any of what I have. But for those that are in lower elevations I'm sure they see way better results with that size injector. I still love these injectors and don't plan I removing them I just need to get off my dead behind and fix some stuff to get it running a little cooler and a different fueling box. But I say go for the Mach 4's all in all they are a great injector.
Rip Rook had a set of Mach 1.6's and Mach 4's on the shelf when I ordered the M1.6's. I was trying to decide between the two sizes and he said he had them both in stock.
