I think Rob had a good idea.
Try the Ez jumper on low! Bet the surge dissipates.

Remember you don't loose any power or fueling....just comes in at a higher boost #.

Thanks rj,
I'll try the lower settings and see what happens.

It's off to hunting camp today, so it will be few days before I post results.

Still nothing from Edge.

have any of you with the surging problem noticed a lot of white smoke and a change in idle times, and a more "tin-like" rattle sporatically? my truck has been surging when cold under acceleration and when I goose it at higher speeds. idle has been going all over the place when in Drive and stopped (ie. at a red light).
cheers,
Ian

A little info on this.... When I went to the 18 turbo housing, the surge and sputtering stopped. Had more power but of course much more lag.

Fairly universal (white smoke & rattle) from Edge products, when cold weather hits ...... caused by advanced timing on a cold engine, IMO.
Plugging in block heater at night helps.
Don't know what you mean by "change in idle times"?

Disregared the surge for now and drove 450+ miles and hand calculated at 21.4 mpg. This is up over 4 mpg from milage before the 275's. My old injectors did not look too bad or dirty, but I guess with 170k miles, they had finally started hammering the milage for the last 5 or 6k miles. I filled up in Round Rock and disconnected the data cable from the EZ. No smoke and less power, as expected. I'll post the milage when I fill up again.

Yes it does! It's back to about what I was getting some 120k miles ago. The best I ever done on straight highway cruising was about 24 mpg.

I disconnected the EZ last week, and the surge went away. After I check the milage, I'll set the EZ in the middle setting and see what it does.

I'm glad to hear that the mileage is up but I'm still curious on the surge.
