EZ or RV 275s?
EZ or RV 275s?
I’ve spent quite a lot of time reading the posts (some really good information), but I’m still flip-flopping back and forth between deciding to go with the EZ or RV 275 injectors. I’m really not chomping at the bit to have to beef up my transmission to the tune of two or three grand. So, it’s going to be one or the other, the EZ or RV 275s, not both.

Which way should I go and why?? Pros and Cons?
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
Go with the EZ. Its a easy on easy off deal. I think the 275's will net you around 40hp. The EZ will be in the same ball park, maybe a little more. It also has jumpers inside the box that can be set for different fueling curves. It comes with the fueling and timing set at the most aggressive level. The power comes on early. Mine will de-fuel around 2700 to 2800 rpm's.
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
I had both. Forgo the Ez and get a comp or Tst Box. They are adjustable and if you ever get your trans. done you will allready have one of the components to really turn it up. If you are set on an EZ OR 275's. Get the Ez, you'll be lots happier ;D
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
Yep... I agree, get a Comp. I have the EZ and looking for a way to get the Comp. Just remember, this will be the start of a bombing sickness...not sure if they have a cure for it yet...
Big dawg
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
Speaking as a guy whos tranny couldnt handle the box. I'd go injectors. I think the dd2's are exactly the same as stock but honed bigger. Most trannys cant handle the torque of the boxes. If I had it to do over again I'd do a TC VB I think the lack of slippage would feel like a lot of power.
If you go box go comp.

Yes, bypass the EZ and go directly to the Comp.

You can hook it up in EZ mode, without piercing the pump wire, and your tranny should (maybe) hold the power.

Then after upgrading the transmission, hook up the pump wire for more HP and Torque.

phox

Everyone seem to be agreeing to the box as a first step. I'm suprised that there are not more votes for upgraded injectors.

You know with the life-line of black box electronics vs hardware and all that. My point being wouldn't upgraded injectors be more reliable over the long haul? Less probability of failure?
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
I went through the same dilemma. I'd say go with the box- either one- then go with the injectors if you need more (if?
I mean when). If you go with DDII's and the box, you will also have to upgrade your turbo. I'll be getting DDI's this spring to complement my EZ box. 275's are almost half as much as an EZ-both will be about the same HP. If you are going to do injectors alone, I'd say DDI's.

Mike

Re:EZ or RV 275s?
I went went with the 275's first just because of the cost. Good performance boost. But as other have said, after 3 months I bought an EZ too 'cause you just can't get enough. ;D I haven't put it on yet but will very shortly, as soon as I open my xmas present and get those installed, gauges! Your going to love the extra POWER.
Re:EZ or RV 275s?
Although I have neither, I understand the Edge EZ and RV275 hp injectors compliment each other. The injectors kick in their performance at higher R'sPM, above 2000, whereas the box is increasing performance in the lower ranges. Together they're a team.

I also understand that after installation of these enhancments, MPG either stays the same or increases. Hopefully soon, I'll have 'em installed in mine.

It only happened twice, but once is enough to cause a wreck.
