Matthais, I've got exhaust hangers underneath and the whole is slightly larger than 5" so they have room to wiggle. I think I did actually weld them though now that I think about it. I have flex pipe underneath so it's seperate from the engine, think it rattled or something so I put a couple tack welds on it to the bet. Been a long time since I've been under there to look or fool with it.

I Like the stacks man, I was wondering what happens when it rains and the truck is shut off, then you start it, does it blow wet soot on top of your truck? I was thinking of building the same exhaust, what parts did you use? How far did you have to move your toolbox back?

yea when i had a stack it was mitre cut. my truck sat for a couple weeks with rain and when i started it black soot water went everywhere...on my white truck lol.....then it got worse cuz when i started driving i hit it and it shot a gallon out hahahah. i was thinking you could weld a petcock in the bottom where the 90 degree is or just put a coffee can over when you park it.....

Well the theres some flex pipe under the truck where the elbow connects so I think that might let a little water drain out but to be honest I've never had a problem. I bought the truck with the stacks already on there (crossbox setup) and a couple months after that we had a flood where we got 10 inches of rain overnight in a 12 hour period. Truck fired up fine after that so I don't worry about it anymore. I don't really get that much soot after it rains. Toolbox is moved back maybe 2-3 inches...just enough to where I can open the lid and have it not hit the stacks.
