Exhaust Mod

I just got my first Dodge CTD 2500 and I love how it sounds, but I want louder! I was wondering if its possible to just remove the muffler and cat, and put straight pipes in their place?

You'll actually help your engine taking off all of that stuff.

Who needs more horsepower? Everybody needs more. It might help your mileage but it won't hurt it any.

You have 2000 model so you only have a resonator not a cat so no need to worry about gettin a big fine for no cat

Depends on the year of the truck.

pre 1999, had a cat, unlawful to remove.
1999-2004, no cat, remove and enjoy.
2004 on up, yes on cat, unlawful to remove.

Isn't that what I said?

I skipped the 1/2 year 24's, as some had cats till they ran out of stock.

You sure can...it sounds great. I went from stock, to stock straight piped, to Warpspeed 4" straightpiped which lowered my egt's too. Check my gallery for a side by side stock -vs- 4".
Welcome & congrats on the new rig

THere you go! It will cost you all of about $30-$40 buck to do. You can even do it yourself. Just need the piece of pipe and a muffler shop to flare the end of the pipe for you! Slip it in and clamp it down! There your done! Enjoy the new voice your truck will have!
