exhaust brake and warranty
I have a 2002 2500 ram, automatic. Has only 30000 miles. I called the Dodge Dealer and ask about installing an exhaust brake. he said they did not install them. I then ask if it would void my warranty. he told me that since it was part of the brake system, that it should no affect my warranty. Lot of help. Does anyone know if it will void the warranty if an exhaust brake is installed. Let me hear about the brands of exhaust brakes you use, if you are satisified and if they can be installed by the owner.
Jacobs Brake is a Mopar Product and no it will not void warranty. Matter of fact if you call around to different dealers you will find it for about $800.
Other brand of exhuast brakes like Banks, etc might create a warranty issue. Becuase the wiring for them does hook into the ECM module.
EDITED: Opps... you have a automatic trans... Jake brakes to be used only with manual trans. There is a way to use it on the auto trans but you will have to ask on of the guru's here.
